Half an hour. One clear task.
Set aside half an hour for a chapter, a draft, or a problem worth working through.

Make time for yourself
Settle into a chapter, a set of practice questions or a piece of writing. Half an hour gives you a defined stretch without needing to plan the whole day.
Decide what you want to move forward before starting. Thirty minutes is enough to finish something small or make a clear dent in something large. Pick one or the other before you begin, so the end of the session feels like an end rather than an interruption. At the end, leave a note about where to pick up next. You can pause the countdown whenever you need.
A textbook chapter with notes. A set of practice questions, marked. A first draft of a cover letter. A workout, a session on an instrument, or tomorrow’s lunch in the oven. Thirty minutes is also a common meeting length; run the timer in a corner of the screen to keep things to time. Two thirty-minute sessions with a break between them make a steady hour of work.
A new session uses thirty minutes of focus, five minutes for a short break and fifteen for a long break. Each phase waits for you to start it. Stand up, refill your water and give your eyes a rest from the screen. Use Custom to choose other lengths.
Yes. Choose a preset or open Custom for whole minutes from 1 to 180. Settings changes keep the current running or paused countdown intact and apply to your next timer.
No. Sound is optional. Leave it quiet, or open Sounds to choose rain, a fireplace, ocean waves, instrumental music, or white, pink or brown noise.
Turn on Keep screen on to stop the display sleeping while the timer is open, where your browser supports screen wake lock.
Yes. It keeps correct time from a fixed end point, so it is accurate when you come back to it. If you turn on the completion chime, a sleeping device may delay or silence it.
