A little focus. A little breathing room.
Choose one task, settle in for a focus session, and take a break on your terms.
Your saved session is still here.
Focus 1 of 4
Make time for yourself
The Pomodoro technique is simple: work on one task for a set interval, then step away for a short break. After four rounds, take a longer one. A new session here starts with 25 minutes of focus, a five-minute short break and a 15-minute long break. If you already have a session in progress, it stays with you.
Open the timer settings to choose Classic or Deep work. Classic uses 25 minutes of focus, five-minute short breaks and a 15-minute long break. Deep work uses 50 minutes of focus, ten-minute short breaks and a 20-minute long break. Custom accepts whole minutes from 1 to 180 if neither suits the task.
Choose a specific task and press Start focusing. When the countdown finishes, the timer waits; start your break when you are ready. Nothing starts automatically, so a break never begins while you are still finishing a sentence. After four completed focus phases, the timer offers a long break. Skipping a phase does not count as a completed focus.
If you want something calmer than a plain countdown, open a room: a rainy desk above Tokyo, Manhattan or Sydney, a daytime library, or slow coloured light. The full timer sits over the scene. Layer rain, fireplace, ocean, instrumental music, or white, pink or brown noise, each with its own volume, or keep it silent. Save the room, durations and mix as a session to start the same way tomorrow.
No. Every focus or break phase waits for you to press Start. You can pause, resume or restart without a new phase beginning on its own.
Yes. A running or paused timer is preserved when you open this page. To replace it with the 25-minute preset, use the new-timer button and confirm the change.
There are five soft instrumental tracks: Rain at the Window, Warm Felt & Rainy Glass, Streetlights on Wet Roads, and two versions of Fading Sunlight. Music is a separate layer, so you can play it alone or under rain or noise. Your browser needs a click before any audio plays.
Yes. It keeps time against a fixed end point, so a background tab or a sleeping laptop does not make it drift.
