Make time for yourself
Choose one thing to finish or move forward, then press Start focusing. A short session can be a useful way to begin a task without planning your whole afternoon around it.
For reading, choose a section and keep a note of the ideas you want to revisit. For revision, work through a few questions before checking your answers. When the timer ends, note where you stopped so the next session is easy to begin. Twenty minutes also suits a quick workout, a language lesson, or a stack of admin you have been avoiding.
This page sets a five-minute short break alongside your 20-minute focus. The break does not start automatically. Stand up, get some water, or simply pause before choosing your next task. Looking out of a window or walking to another room is a simple way to make the break feel like one. You can change the break length in settings.
Open Sounds and pick one of five soft instrumental tracks, or play rain at the window, a fireplace or ocean waves underneath. White, pink and brown noise are there too if you prefer something steady. Each sound has its own volume slider, and none of it is required. Your browser needs a click before any audio plays, and a sleeping device may pause it.
Yes. Press Pause to stop the countdown and Resume to continue from the remaining time. Restart begins the phase again after you confirm.
A running or paused session is preserved when you visit another timer page. Use the new-timer button above the countdown if you want to replace it; you will be asked to confirm.
Yes. Save a session to keep the room, durations and sound mix together, then relaunch it in one click. Saved sessions stay in this browser.
Yes. The countdown works from a fixed end time, so it stays correct in a background tab or while your laptop sleeps.
